2.1 Health & Hygiene
We observe strict health and hygiene practices as required by the relevant government departments regarding current standards. These standards are maintained to minimise health risks to children and educators in our centre.
Every now and then children become ill, however we try to minimise the spread of any infections by good hygiene practices and we also endeavour to exclude any children with suspected infectious conditions.
A doctor’s clearance must be obtained before a child with a contagious illness may return to the centre.
On enrolment you will be required to provide a copy of your child’s immunisation records. For the health and wellbeing of the children in care, non-immunised children will be excluded from care during outbreaks of preventable infectious diseases. Non-immunisation will affect your government subsidy. Speak to our Director about our Immunisation Policy.
2.2 Medical Conditions
(Management of medical conditions including asthma, diabetes or a diagnosis that a child is at risk of anaphylaxis)
The Directors and Educators must be aware of any medical conditions of any child enrolled at the service and be informed of any practices in relation to managing the medical conditions. Upon enrolment or as an event presents itself, families are required to complete a Medical Management Plan for their child’s specific need.
Educators will familiarise themselves with the Medical Management Plans that need to be followed in the event of an incident relating to the child’s specific health care need, allergy or relevant medical condition.

2.3 Medication
Prescribed medication with a current pharmacist’s label specific for that child will be administered. This label will specify the child’s name, dose required, name of the medication and the doctor’s name. Further information regarding medication can be found in our complete Handbook.
